The Sim Lab
The simulation lab gives optometry students access to virtual patients and real pathology cases as early as their first year. This high-tech learning experience is made possible through a modified headband-mounted light that allows for visualization of the retina via indirect ophthalmoscopy. The virtual patients will get tired, tear up, blink, close and move their eyes when the students take too long mimicking real life patients. The Sim Lab is 24/7 student access, which allows students to be flexible with their learning hours.
Antomage Table
The Anatomage Table provides an innovative, world class learning opportunity for our students. In a University as diverse as ours, this will give us the opportunity to accommodate students who, because of religious, cultural reasons or past trauma could not work with human cadavers.
Having the extra table, available to students in off hours, means they can study the digital cadavers for their boards and other important tests on their own schedules. The Anatomage Table is the only fully segmented real human 3D anatomy system. Users can visualize anatomy exactly as they would on a fresh cadaver. Individual structures are reconstructed in accurate 3D, resulting in an unprecedented level of real accurate anatomy, dissectible in 3D. The Table allows for exploration and learning of human anatomy beyond what any cadaver could offer.
