Beth Harper, O.D.

Biography
Dr. Harper serves as the Director of Residency Programs and as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She provides patient care and training at the UH Eye Care Center, where she also directs the Family Practice Service. Her expertise spans ocular disease, pediatric eye care, and advancing educational methods for future optometrists.
She earned her undergraduate degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from the University of Rochester and her Doctor of Optometry from the State University of New York, College of Optometry, in 2007. She then completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Care at the Veterans Administration Boston Healthcare System.
Before joining UHCO in 2018, Dr. Harper served as a clinical educator and administrator at the New England College of Optometry and held leadership roles in the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists, which named her Young Optometrist of the Year in 2012. Since relocating to Texas in 2017, she has remained active in both the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
